国之香|海南沉香 Hương quê hương|Trầm hương Hải Nam

很多时候，喜欢沉香的人，经常会听到一个词，那就是“国香”。但殊不知，并不是所有的“国香”都是海南香，“国香”是一个统称，它大致可分为海南沉香、香港沉香、广东沉香、云南沉香等。海南沉香是重要的国香之一而已，也称“琼脂”。

海南沉香可分为“水格”、“黄油格”、“黑油格”之说。所谓“格”在《崖州志》中记载道：“有心者谓之格木，无心者谓之杂木。俗谓木心为格，木肤为漫。”因而格指的就是树木的芯材部分，黑油格、黄油格、水格可以统称为树心格，也就是树心油材质。一般是指沉香树由于外力因素或者自己病变导致树上出现了可以承接雨水的地方，比如说凹坑，经过雨水和露水的洗礼，水分逐渐进入沉香树而使沉香树产生了抗体，最终形成的沉香，这就是水格，也叫“速香”，颜色淡黄色和土黄色，或者是黄褐色，颜色越鲜亮品质越高。一般水格的结香时间短，且容易出大料，不能作为熏料，如果想熏，只能选择油脂多的地方，否则会出现朽木的味道。极品的水格不多见，因此一般的水格常被用来做成雕刻工艺品。

黄油格油脂颜色为淡黄色，哪怕油脂再多，整体的颜色也是淡黄色。为什么和水格的颜色差不多？因为它与水格基本同出一树，但是基本是树芯结香，品质好的黄油格价格也非常高，只是现在市场上把一些板头和非树芯材结油较少的黄油沉香都叫做黄油格。严格意义上来说，只有沉香树树芯结油的黄油类沉香，才能称为黄油格。

黑油格基本色泽为黑褐色，略有浅黄色相间，斑纹呈不规则片状或团状，毛孔为点状。它的油线分布均匀、条理清晰，好像用笔一丝丝画上去的。黑油格的香味重而不浓，非常有凝聚性，与其深邃的外表相符，熏烧起来香气就变得甜香醇美，沁人心脾，被称之为沉香中的绅士，且黑油格的药用价值很高。宏观上来说，满油的海南黑油格沉香呈黑色，油脂成膏几乎没有纤维，且油脂甚至比别的惠安沉香产区沉香更软；味道初闻起来香味温和纯正，较明显，烧之香气更为芳甜浑厚。由于高品质的海南沉香几乎没有木质纤维，煎香时不会闻到纤维的刺激味道，因此海南沉香以及香港等一些野生国香非常适合泡茶、泡酒、制药、淬油、煎香等。但是不同结香年份差别，生结和熟结等，外观特点和味道浓郁程度之间还是有一定差别。目前市场上水格沉香是价格最低，黄油格较高，黑油格最高。海南沉香中黄油格和黑油格就是最好的沉香之一，偶有奇楠。

为什么海南沉香在所有的沉香产地之中位居前列？首先，海南沉香本身就具备不少优秀基因，特别是在形成环境上，海南的地理位置都是四面环海，是中国东南海岛气候地形，温度湿度较高，菌种丰富，是出产沉香最佳的纬度。且唯一能与之在伯仲之间的，就是香港沉香了。海南沉香的地位几乎是无可取代的，与国内其他产地的沉香之中也是佼佼者，而且国香的产地众多，因此再次强调，千万不要一听到“国香”，就定义为海南沉香。

古黎母山东峒（现今琼中县及周边）是海南沉香的顶级产地，这里森林茂密，溪水碧绿，是海南有名的热带雨林区。

李时珍《本草纲目/沉香/集解》中说：“沉香占城不如真腊，真腊不如海南黎峒，黎峒又以万安黎母山东峒者冠绝天下，谓之海南沉‘一片万钱……”

经典共读 | 苏轼《沉香山子赋》

古人生活中几乎无时不在用香，兰蕙清芬，沉檀雅韵，龙麝华贵，装点了文人雅士们的优雅生活。而众香之中，沉香为首，最是受到推崇。然而以香入诗者多，以香为文的却罕见，苏轼这篇《沉香山子赋》算是其中佼佼者。四六骈体，韵律雅正，虽寥寥数言，而内蕴华章。

这篇《沉香山子赋》就作于苏轼在儋州时期。儋州即今天的海南岛，北宋时期尚且未经开化，还算是蛮荒之地，但此处胜在物产丰富，不同于中原。苏轼贬谪到此，能“日啖荔枝三百颗”，玩赏最上等的海南沉香，留下这篇香学佳作。

苏轼与香有极深的渊源，他一生爱香玩香，还自己调配香方，留下了许多写香的诗词。这篇《沉香山子赋》是他晚年所作，一生遍阅众香而独爱沉香，足见沉香之高妙。其中许多描述，都十分精准地概括了沉香的特点，直至今日看来，依然给人以诸多启发。

原文：

古者以芸为香，以兰为芬，以郁鬯为祼，以脂萧为焚，以椒为涂，以蕙为薰。杜衡带屈，菖蒲荐文。麝多忌而本羶，苏合若芗而实荤。嗟吾知之几何，为六入之所分。方根尘之起灭，常颠倒其天君。每求似于仿佛，或鼻劳而妄闻。独沉水为近正，可以配薝卜而并云。矧儋崖之异产，实超然而不群。既金坚而玉润，亦鹤骨而龙筋。惟膏液之内足，故把握而兼斤。顾占城之枯朽，宜爨釜而燎蚊。宛彼小山，巉然可欣。如太华之倚天，象小孤之插云。往寿子之生朝，以写我之老勤。子方面壁以终日，岂亦归田而自耘。幸置此于几席，养幽芳于帨帉。无一往之发烈，有无穷之氤氲。盖非独以饮东坡之寿，亦所以食黎人之芹也。

译文：

古人以芸为香，以兰为芳。为了取香，敞开郁鬯酒，焚烧脂萧，以椒泥涂壁，以火灼蕙草，将杜衡佩在衣服上，用菖蒲装饰门面。麝香多恶而且味本羶腥，苏合似有五谷的香气而实辛臭。哀叹我辈懂得甚少，都为物性分散了智慧。六根、六尘的起灭，常使心智颠倒不清。每次求得的似真而实错，有时鼻子嗅而不辨。只有沉香近于正味，可与着薝卜用并存。况且沉香又是海南特产，实在超过众香而不一般。不仅其坚如金，其润如玉，而且其质似．鹤骨龙筋。沉水的沉水因膏液充盈本体，个头虽然纤细，但是放在手里沉甸甸的有份量。看看那些越南的枯朽沉香木，该用它烧锅灶、熏蚊虫。小巧玲珑的沉香小山，高险之势令人心爱。有如华山上倚青天，有如小孤直入云霄。我用它当贺礼去祝贺你的生日，以表示我的厚意。你每日面壁读书，难道还想归田种地?幸好可把它置在书案，用淡淡的香气熏着你的佩巾。它不会突发浓烈的气味，却有无穷无尽的幽香。不要只饮东坡奉上的寿酒，也要品尝海南黎族人的野生特产。

苏轼的修养不仅仅在文学方面，在佛学方面也颇高，所以在文章中多次用到了佛学的理念，而非日常生活所指。苏轼很谦虚，自嘲智慧不足，被“色，声，香，味，触，法”所牵绊，“独沉水为近正，可以配薝卜而并云”，唯独沉香，与众不同，达到了近似引入正途的作用，可以把沉香与郁金香调和，用于辅助修行。

苏轼虽被贬官到海南，但是可以品味到海南上好的沉香，故对海南沉香的赞誉甚高，“矧儋崖之异产，实超然而不群。既金坚而玉润，亦鹤骨而龙筋。惟膏液之内足，故把握而兼斤”。海南产的沉香与其他香料都不同，超然不群，它的质地不仅像金子一样坚硬，而且像美玉一样油润，它的外形坚毅嶙峋，富有灵气，仿佛鹤骨龙筋。其实这一段既是描写沉香的美德，更是比喻君子的德性，苏轼借着赞美沉香来砥砺自己的弟弟，做一位品行坚定、精神超然的君子士大夫。

“顾占城之枯朽，宜爨釜而燎蚊”，而越南的土沉沉香呢？则适宜烧火做做饭、熏熏蚊虫而已。其实越南的土沉香是不是真的像苏轼描述的这样“不堪重用”呢？当然不是，举个例子，越南最著名的熟结沉香——富森红土，就符合苏轼描述的“占城之枯朽”，如若拿来烧饭熏蚊虫也着实是暴殄天物了。这里只是一个比喻，是为了突出海南沉香的品质和地位。

苏轼送给弟弟苏辙一座海南沉香山子作为贺礼，这个沉香山子看起来好像一座小假山，天然造型崎岖险峻，玩味起来颇有趣味。以幽默调侃的语气鼓励弟弟，不要消沉，送给你的这尊沉香山子，你把它放置在床头的小桌上，让它的幽香浸染你的床铺桌案，绵延不绝。

焚香静坐，古人的“雅”健康

解秽除烦豁性灵，玉炉风细绕彤庭。

最怜宝鼎烟销后，身巴成灰气尚馨。

古人把焚香作为日常清课，书斋里不可一日无香。“焚香习静”更是古人安顿心灵、修身养性的生活之道。

在古代文人的养生书中，香多与静心功夫同时提及，尤其是打坐行气时，身边都会在焚上一炉香。

黄庭坚晚年被贬宜州，被迫入住在声音鼎沸吵杂的市集中，邻居是屠牛的小贩，如此糟糕的环境，黄庭坚就靠焚香习静收敛心神，求得内心清静。黄庭坚《豫章黄先生文集》：

余谪宜州半载，官司谓不当居关城内，乃抱被入宿子城南。......既设卧榻，焚香而坐，与西邻屠牛之机相直。

市井喧哗的叫卖声与肉屑的腐败气味，种种烦杂俗事汹涌侵扰，只需焚香一炷就能够“灵台湛空明”，外在烦忧、闹心之事就在香气的涤荡之下，消散于无形。黄庭坚在写给贾天锡的诗中曾提到焚香的益处：

险心游万仞，躁欲生五兵。

隐几香一炷，灵台湛空明。

古人在养病时更注重焚香静心，苏轼在《十月十四日以病在告，独酌》一诗中便提到：铜炉烧柏子，石鼎煮山药。宋人晁说之《新合柏子香，因诵皮日休坐久重焚柏子香，辄以其香赠张簿》诗云：

柏子香清谁喜闻，五言句法更清芬。

病仍春困在难久，遣向吟窗起暮云。

柏子气味清香，其安神清心的功效，可以稳定病人的情绪。柏子香的制作方法简单，所用香料也比较朴素亲民。

采带青色、未开破的新鲜柏子随意采集多少，用沸水焯一下，然后浸在酒中，密封七天，再取出，放在阴凉处慢慢晾干，即成柏子香。

除了精神调养，香在古人生活中也是卫生防疫用品，屠隆《考盘馀事》“香笺”云：

香之为用，其利最溥。物外高隐，坐语道德，焚之可以清心悦神......又可祛邪辟秽。随其所适，无施不可。

香燃烧散发的气味，可以免疫避邪、杀菌消毒、醒神益智。香的养生功能为古人所重视，外出时常备“避瘟丹”用以除湿气，辟邪疫，高濂《遵生八笺》“太仓公避瘟丹方”：

凡官舍旅馆，久无人到，积湿积邪容易侵人，制此熟之，可以远此。宜于五六月，终日焚之，可以避痘远邪。

从中医的角度来说，焚香属外治法中的“气味疗法”。制香所用原料四气五味的不同，香也便有品性各异的功能或解毒驱虫、或健脾镇痛。香学专著《香乘》中记载有治愈头风的“清神湿香”、治心腹痛的“南番龙涎香”。

清神湿香：芎须半两、藁本半两、羌活半两、独活半两、甘菊半两、麝香少许，右同为末，炼蜜和剂，作饼爇之。可愈头风。

南蕃龙涎香：木香二钱半、丁香二钱半、藿香半两、零陵香半两、槟榔二钱半、香附子一钱半、白芷一钱半、官桂一钱、肉荳蔻一个、麝香一钱、沉香一钱、当归一钱、甘松半两。可治心腹痛，理气宽中。

古人通过焚香，既获得精神上的享受，也求得身心的安康。正如《香乘》作者周嘉胄所说“香之为用，大矣哉！”
